虚心竹有低头叶，傲骨梅无仰面花。
宁可食无肉，不可居无竹，无肉使人瘦，无竹令人俗。
独坐幽篁里，弹琴复长啸。深夜人不知，明月来相照。
窗前有竹玩，门外有酒沽。何以待君子，数竿对一壶。
竹是何等高雅之物，自古被无数诗人吟颂高歌。
“咬定青山不放松，立根原在破岩中。
千磨万击还坚劲，任尔东西南北风。”
这是郑板桥对竹子品质的高度赞美。
自幼就喜欢竹子，那满身的绿色，坚挺的身躯，仿佛在我的眼里、心里都定格成了一幅不可磨灭的画面。
喜欢它的挺拔、飘逸的身姿，恬淡、高雅的情怀，虚心、劲节的风范，清新、碧绿的玉叶，居贫瘠而自励，历四时而常茂，享盛誉而谨持。
它不浮燥、不张扬、不娇情、不卑琐，无私无欲，如君如圣；亦庄亦谐，可师可友。
如竹般的信念在生活中得到了千遍万遍地锤炼，人性也在灰暗中得到一次次地蜕变。
迷茫中，望尽那满眼的绿色，力量就会不断地滋生到身体当中的每一滴鲜血里面，此时，心神也会不由得怡然惬意起来。
好希望自己住在一片竹林深处， 象王维那样弹琴长歌，听竹萧萧，感竹清韵，渴来品竹茶，饿来食竹笋，品清幽，食雅淡，寂寞时一支竹笛邀月同歌，请竹共赏，且随风吟竹唱，聆听花开叶落，感悟繁华岁月之澹泊心境。
竹，苍翠挺拔，而其叶却谦逊地微微颔首，但这并不影响它的气节，它的傲骨，反增添了几缕人性之光。
竹，梅兰竹菊“四君子”之一，虽未居其首，但国人与竹之情结，不曾逊色于梅、兰、菊三花，“四君子”中，梅多孤傲，兰多脱尘，菊多情殇，唯竹多韧骨，傲中有谦，乃真君伟丈夫也。
竹，性质朴而淳厚，品清奇而典雅，形文静而怡然。未出土时先有节，竹不但有高雅之意，亦有气节之心，更有若谷之怀。滚滚红尘间，追名逐利者甚番，谁人怀竹之心境，几人又得悟这竹之意境？
竹子挺拔俊秀，刚劲清新，生机盎然，岁寒不凋。
看到竹子，人们自然想到她不畏逆境， 不于花争艳，不随季节枯。
明心清似镜，所怀虚若谷，宁折不屈的品格，故以“玉可碎而不改其白，竹可焚而不毁其节”来比喻人的气节和积极向上的精神。
须知君当如竹，临风不折，过雨不污。
心灵的挺拔，让生命充实，让生命绚烂。
中通外直，叶似利剑锋而不露，清瘦节劲，不卑不亢，不骄不燥，玉立于天地之间。
俗世之中，却不随波逐流，不于世同污，无为无我，无嗔无怒。
有梅傲而无梅冷，有兰幽而无兰愁，有菊雅而无菊寂。
刚柔相济、能屈能伸，这又是竹的另一品性。
竹子心无杂念，甘于孤寂，她不求闻达于莽林，不慕热闹于山岭。
竹不开花，清淡高雅，一尘不染，她不图华丽、不慕虚名的自然天性为世人所倾倒。
郑板桥这样赞道：“一节复一节，千校攒万叶。我自不开花，免撩蜂与蝶。”
一肩担尽高风亮节，披一身翠绿安然自若，当风雨迎面，繁花殆尽，却是与风同唱潇潇，沐雨挺立苍穹，一派悠闲惬意，风过，依旧高节，雨停，更加清碧，须知，君当如竹。
我爱竹、敬竹、欣赏竹、崇拜竹、赞美竹，不仅因为竹的万般风情给我以艺术的美感，而是因为竹的自然天性和君子品格给了我哲理的启迪和人格的力量。
日久天长，我的情操也被竹的气息、竹的清香和竹的风格所陶冶，使我能以清风朗月般的心态面对物欲横流的人世。
做人当君子，君子当如竹。
