搀入白铅较多，除老一百、老二百两种为紫铜外，其余均是白黄色的白铅。故铜质不如清末所铸之纯，但官方要求是成色96%以上。由于四川省内军阀混乱，有些军阀用铜日杂，使成色方面连95%也难以达到。 珠圈内铸刻"四川铜币"四字，其中心纹有芙蓉花纹，代表四川省，珠圈外上环镌刻"军政府造"四字，下环刻"当制钱壹百文"字样，左右饰以四瓣花。铜币背面中心圆圈内为一篆书"汉"字，圈内"汉"字周围有数十条横刻纹，圈外环绕一圈竖刻稳，层次分明，雕刻工艺高超。竖刻纹外环绕有18个小圆圈，代表当时的十八个省。
