IT之家 4 月 15 日消息，苹果日本发布新闻稿，宣布在 Apple Books 上开辟了全新的“垂直阅读漫画”（vertical reading manga）页面，并通过和创作者的合作，独家发行相关的漫画。
相对于适用于传统小说、杂志等媒介的水平翻页特性，垂直方式更加适用于漫画阅读。垂直阅读漫画是一种专门为数字媒体制作的流行内容类型，专门为垂直滚动和流畅阅读进行优化。
日本地区的 iPhone、iPad 和 Mac 用户使用 Apple Books 应用程序，在“Manga Store”选项卡中可以访问“垂直阅读漫画”页面。
苹果表示 Apple Books 将深耕垂直阅读漫画内容，已经和 180 多名创作者建立合作，每年创作近百部垂直阅读漫画系列。
IT之家从报道中获悉，垂直阅读漫画内容涵盖爱情 / 言情、奇幻、动作等热门系列之外，还提供悬疑、恐怖、异世界、科幻等多种类型。
