“借用”了不存在版权的初代米老鼠形象，Nightmare Forge Games开发和发行了在线合作动作恐怖游戏《Infestation: 88》。不过游戏在公布不久后，便宣布改名为《Infestation: Origins》。
这款有着类似于《汽船威利号》中米老鼠造型服装角色的游戏，并非是因为触及迪士尼的版权而进行更名的，根本原因是其中的数字88涉及“反犹太主义”，因此遭到了一定的反对声音。
虽然官方将故事背景设定在1980年代，而且选择1988是为了对称设计所做的决定，但在了解到“88”具有的含义后，迅速进行了更改。目前在宣传视频及Steam商店页面等相关链接中，改作均已更名为《Infestation: Origins》。
在《Infestation: Origins》这款合作恐怖游戏中，玩家将扮演一名消灭者，治疗由经典人物和都市传说的扭曲版本引起的邪恶侵扰，预计在2024年正式发售。
