据外媒TechCrunch报道，威尔风险投资公司「Will Ventures」于近日将其名下第二只基金的规模扩大了两倍，达到1.5亿美元，这主要得益于其投资体育技术的独到眼光。
「Will Ventures」于2019年由前职业足球运动员Isaiah Kacyvenski和拥有产品管理背景的Brian Reilly创立。早在公司创立前，Isaiah Kacyvenski与Brian Reilly就有十余年的交情，两人此前同在可穿戴技术初创公司MC10共事。Kacyvenski在采访中表示，“在MC10工作的时间里，我们主要在消费者健康、数字健康、消费技术领域，及健康垂直领域工作，以此为基础推出可穿戴设备，帮助优秀运动员和慢性病患者享受运动。”

在风投公司创立两年前，Kacyvenski还与Reilly共同创办了体育技术研究咨询公司sports Division Lab，这帮助他们积累了在健康垂直领域以及体育媒体和娱乐领域的经验。
2020年，「Will Ventures」便完成了其基金I 共5500万美元的融资，获得了大学捐赠基金、职业运动队老板和企业家多方面的支持和帮助。今年，「Will Ventures」完成了1.5亿美元的基金II的融资，这笔资金将继续投资于消费者、健康、体育和娱乐领域种子轮阶段的公司。「Will Ventures」投资公司包括被称为“健康与强健”的Ness、面向老年人的健康与健康平台Mighty health，以及街头体育市场Street FC。目前，基金II的有限合伙人包括健康基金会、数十名职业运动员，以及来自风险投资和私募股权公司的创始人。
